I’ve not been to many weddings in my 24 years on this Earth. In fact, I’ve been “on the job” at weddings more often than I’ve been a guest and that’s still not a great number. So far though, this one is up there with my favourites. Hit the jump to find out why.
Not been in hiding the last several weeks, just been incredibly busy with other commitments that I haven’t had much chance to get the camera out much. I did get the chance to go down the London just after all the main Jubilee celebrations. Not being much of a royalist, I wasn’t exactly running around draped in a Union Jack the entire time but I did take SOME images relating to what I’ve heard is a pretty big year for “Lizzy”.
Right folks, my bread and butter will always be my main passion – Mixed Martial Arts. Spend majority of my free time watching it, reading up on the latest news, finding new shows to photograph, etc. So this new face won’t be THAT much different to what you’ve known in the past to be “Capture Combat” – it’ll still be MMA / Combat Sports for the most part. Probably 80% or more. I’ve switched from “Capture Combat” over to a more generalized “Joe Hughes Photography” so that I have somewhere I could explore my other interests in photography and show off a huge back catalogue of photographs from other genres. And, of course, any new stuff I shoot that doesn’t fit into the “Capture Combat” bracket.
Whenever I’m not shooting MMA/Boxing events, I have done the odd wedding or other photography work and so could do with a platform such as this to work from anyway. There’s no telling what could be round the corner and since most of my major Sports/MMA Photography idols don’t hide behind an alias and just float by their names (like this now), I figured it’s for a good reason.
In an attempt to not flood the blog with all different photography genres, anything not linked to combat sports will be listed under “General Photography” for now. I’ve spent a good week or so working on the site, uploading some of the more recent galleries but it’ll take some time to get a full catalogue up and running so the sub-divisions in the Galleries section is a work-in-progress.

The final update is the addition of a Documentary gallery titled: “This is England” which is going to be an on-going documentary photography project of mine looking into what I enjoy – and sometimes maybe not enjoy – about England.
